Gabrielle Chanel was a passionate lover of both Glass and Venice. In a serendipitous rencontre in Venice, these two worlds were made into a fashion reality for the 1960s CHANEL collections. Archimede Seguso (1909-1999), the world renown hand-made glass maker was commissioned by Coco to make a series of exquisite linked chain jewels for her couture fashion. Chanel was to fashion what Seguso was to glass and here is one of the most rare pieces ever produced. The rarity of these necklaces cannot be understated. Brightly coloured glass in beautiful colours were blown into Seguso's signature oval links. Six of them further enhanced with crystals as seen in this rare model. This exquisite piece has alternating vibrant red and high gloss black delicate links with Seguso's most sought-after detail: the linked cluster knot. Finding a Seguso for CHANEL jewel in perfect condition with the original monogrammed clasp is a chance for the most fortunate few.
