The original double dog tag necklace created in 1993 by Karl Lagerfeld was an immediate icon in the jeweled heirlooms of CHANEL. Often inspired by military garments and their silhouettes and accessories, Lagerfeld borrowed cuts, symbols and designs throughout his reign at CHANEL. Many of the jackets, caps, boots, buttons were a clin d'oeil to chic military attire. The dog tag necklace appeared on several models during the "White Shirt and Boots" 1993 show including Swedish beauty, Emma Wiklund. Such a timeless house icon, with the military ball chain and embossed CHANEL on each dangle charm, the necklace style has been brought back regularly in different versions.
