On October 8th of 1993, in the tents of the Cour Carrée du Louvre, Galliano presented his Spring/Summer 1994 collection to a lucky few. This was a fashion fairytale inspired by the Romanovs and the Lost Princess Anastasia, Tolstoy's Anna Karenina, Jane Campion's The Piano, the Duke of Edinburgh, and Madeleine Vionnet's 1920's bias cut. A narrative was firmly in place and the models became actresses guiding the audience through a fantastical odyssey of romance and history. Galliano showcased his old-world skill and technique to create original works of art of such beauty. The jacket model listed was modeled by Helena Christensen in the show. Amanda Harlech, Galliano's romantic, story-telling stylist helped herald Galliano as a force of talent, beauty, and spectacle that remained pivotal in fashion history.
